Yew Chung International Schools and Yew Wah International Education Schools successfully held the Seeds of Hope Charity Concert at YWIES Tongxiang on March 9, 2019. It was the first time for the Concert to be held on YWIES Tongxiang campus. More than 200 YCIS and YWIES students and teachers from our 12 campuses, including Tongxiang, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Yantai, Qingdao, Chongqing and Silicon Valley, US, gathered together at the auditorium of YWIES Tongxiang to participate in this annual musical event.

Seeds of Hope charity project commenced officially in 2011 by Yew Chung and Yew Wah. In recognition of the school motto “to align with love and charity”, Seeds of Hope project, as a core part of the Character Education, aims to provide assistance to underprivileged areas by building schools for students in those areas.

Since the tragic Sichuan earthquake in 2008, Yew Chung and Yew Wah have consecutively organised Seeds of Hope Charity Concert for 11 years. Through organising over 300 charity events in these years, Seeds of Hope project successfully raised fund for students in underprivileged places.

Besides dancing, dramas and classical music playing, this year’s Seeds of Hope Charity Concert featured large-scale performances involving world-class level orchestra and choir composed of students and teachers from 12 campuses.

“Seeds of Hope Charity Concert is the largest event of the Foundations,” said Yew Chung and Yew Wah’s Pastoral Advisor Rev. Samuel Choy, the concept creator of Seeds of Hope project. “Our school motto has three components; ‘to align with love and charity’ is one of them,” added Rev. Choy.

“Our Seeds of Hope project is not just about donation, but is about letting every participant to feel and express themselves through engaging in the charity event. In this way, participants will understand and respect the true meaning of charity,” said Max Caruso, Western Co-Principal of YWIES Tongxiang.
